Do I need a background in construction to own a STOP Restoration franchise?

No. Though any experience in construction, restoration or just being “good with your hands” may certainly help, it’s definitely not a requirement to become an owner of your own restoration franchise with STOP Restoration. Our motto is “Start Simple, Grow Big.” The truth is, many of our franchisees do not come on board with this kind of background, yet have found great success with us. We offer everything you need to run a successful business, including extensive technical training.

STOP Restoration tailors our program to start new owners off with water damage cleaning, light-duty restoration as well as mold remediation. Neither of these requires any construction. You can rest easy knowing that we’ve been in this business for a long time and have a lot of knowledge and experience that will always be at your disposal.

What types of restoration work do STOP Restoration franchisees handle?

At STOP Restoration, we handle the main types of restoration home and building owners most commonly need:

As a STOP Restoration franchisee, how do I find customers?

Your business certainly can’t succeed without customers. We’ve got you covered. Our proven marketing strategy helps you build a reputation for excellence in your community and increase your sales. What is the investment range versus how much money I can make?

What kind of work is involved and do I need experience?

Simply put, no, you don’t. In fact, most of our franchisees did not have prior restoration experience when they launched their STOP Restoration franchise. Much of our work falls into the “entry-level labor” category. However, there is a requirement for technical know-how. During your first year, you’ll have 26 days of training, as well as six days per year thereafter, which will keep your STOP Restoration franchise on the cutting edge of the industry and competitive in your community.

How long does it take to ramp up and is STOP Restoration scalable?

Since you’re not a retail business, you thankfully won’t need six months to build out a store. You’ll grow with STOP Restoration’s “Marketing Trifecta”, which includes meeting local referral sources, STOP Restoration’s website/digital tools, and doing quality work. Your first jobs usually come at the 30-90 day mark and will become much more frequent as you grow. As for scalability, the potential is virtually limitless.

How big is my territory and is it protected?

Think you might need multiple territories? Think again. Better yet, keep your money. STOP Restoration territories are massive, with populations of up to 150,000 people. You can rest easy knowing no other STOP Restoration franchisee can market to insurance agents or other core referral sources in your territory. And logically, you can perform work wherever your marketing efforts send you, allowing other STOP owners to build their brands together throughout the entire region. It’s a win-win for all involved.

How much equipment will I get and is it enough?

This is a great question and we’re happy you asked! Short answer? You’ll have enough equipment to get started! There is a chance that in your early days you might need more equipment for a particular job (which can usually be rented) but you’ll start out with a smart-sized equipment package. As you grow, you’ll be able to buy more as you need it.
