We were recently called to a water loss in Winston-Salem. When our team arrived the owner wasn’t there and no-one could authorize us to begin work. We helped the plumber identify what was causing water the back flow from the toilet and eventually our customer arrived.
This was an odd situation because the owner was in a hospital and the person with Power of Attorney didn’t know who the homeowner’s insurance was with so cost was a primary concern. As we explained the health risks associated with contaminated water and the risks associated with water damage she agreed to allow us to perform demolition and any structural drying that was needed. Once the drywall was removed and we were able to get to the structural members we realized that most of the water had been caught in the drywall and very little moisture was present in the studs. We then cleaned everything to ensure the area was safe and showed our customer how to use her own fans and mini dehumidifier to finish the drying process.
This saved them $150-$200. We could have put our equipment in place and dried the area but instead helped our customer with the problem while understanding her needs. Because we found a way to work with her to get the situation under control and safe, she’s asked us to look at several other projects around the home that needed to be addressed. Since I’m a licensed general contractor we can do just about anything and are helping with several other small and large projects on the property.
This is the kind of company I’m proud to own. We will always go out of our way to help people and try to meet their needs. When you have something go wrong at home, whether it’s water, fire, smoke or mold, give us a call at (336) 203-0739 and we’ll have someone out to you as soon as possible to make it right.
