First Two Calls After A Property Loss

So, you wake up to soggy wet carpets in your living room, after some inspection you find that the heavy rains have caused your garage to flood and water is overflowing into your entry way. What do you do next? The purpose of this blog is to help property owners in the Triad know how to better respond to an unforeseen loss on their property. Whether you’re in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Thomasville or Lexington, our dedicated team here at Triad STOP is available 24/7 to respond to your emergency. We have over 4 decades of mitigation services experience backing our technicians, that means that no matter the job - we are prepared to handle it!

Once you see that your home or place of business has suffered a loss, whether it be water damage, fire, smoke, mold or biological contamination the first thing that we recommend is getting professional assistance to help minimize damage to the building. That is where we come in, we will be able to advise you whether to file a claim with your insurance company. We DO NOT always recommend filing a claim. The type of damage and the amount of your deductible matter; if the damage doesn’t seem extensive enough to exceed your deductible, it is better off for a claim to not be filed or if the loss looks like it is from a non-covered source we’ll advise you of that as well. Secondly, you will want to let your insurance company know what is going on if you need to file a claim. We can help you with that and identify a lot of the information your carrier will need and even meet the adjuster at your home or business to walk them through the damage so they can determine coverage.

As for how we bill for our services; our industry uses a pricing system called Xactimate. This system allows us to align our billing system with that of the adjusters. Due to the nature of our services it is often difficult to provide an exact estimate of a job prior to completion, this is because it is difficult to predict how long the materials are going to take to dry, or how much mold is present behind drywall. We understand that having work start without an exact price can be intimidating but know that we will do all we can to minimize damage to your structure, reduce your inconvenience during the process and explain every detail along the way to your insurance provider so no one is surprised at the end of the project.  Our communication is what allows us to deliver peace of mind to you as well as the insurance company.

No one plans to have a supply line leak in the middle of the night that floods their living room, or for a grease fire to get out of hand and cause damage to your newly remodeled kitchen. Unfortunately, the reality is that unexpected property losses happen every day.  Here at Triad STOP Restoration we are ready when it does! Let us be your calm in the storm. (336) 203-0739.
