Speed Counts With Water Loss
Act fast when you have water damage. Once you call a mitigation firm they should be there within an hour to evaluate your loss and begin the dry out. The longer water sits on a surface, the deeper it will penetrate into the material and the longer it will take to dry. Damp organic material like wood is a feeding ground for mold and other microorganisms so it’s important to dry them as quickly as possible and minimize the damage to the structure.
Very few companies can give you an accurate estimate on a dry out until they begin the demolition and extraction and know just how much water is there, how far it has spread and what equipment will be required. Our advice is to get it dry as soon as possible with a company with which you feel comfortable.
