How Do You Know Who to Hire?
Over the last few weeks, we’ve heard some crazy stories from property owners. Here are a couple red flags to watch out for when you’re looking to hire a contractor:
- High pressure tactics to get you to sign the contract
- Offer to increase the estimate so you don’t have to pay your deductible – this is called insurance fraud
- Limited explanation of what they need to do to fix your problem or can’t explain why they need to do certain things
- No written documentation
If you feel uncomfortable it’s probably best to hold off. Just talk to your insurance provider and they can help you make that decision and likely provide some other options.
